Commitment Ceremony

A Commitment Ceremony is a ceremony involving two people who love each other and would like to take their relationship to the 'next step' by publicly acknowledging their commitment to each other.

Same sex couples, or a woman and man who don't wish to be married, that are living in committed relationships as life partners see commitment ceremonies as a way for their family, friends and wider community to share in their commitment to each other.

Commitment Ceremonies are a significant rite of passage worthy of recognition and celebration.

Renewal of Vows Ceremony

A Renewal of Vows Ceremony can be held at any time in a marriage. Some couples renew their vows on their five year wedding anniversary, others on their 25th. There are no rules or regulations as it is a personal ceremony intended as the name suggests to renew their original vows and commitment to each other in front of old and new friends and family.

Handfasting Ceremony

A Handfasting Ceremony is an ancient Celtic, nature-related, spiritual tradition. According to Celtic Spirituality, God is found in all things, not only in the human heart but also in all of God's creations. The Handfasting ritual enables the couple to be in touch with the life force within them to sense inter-connectedness with all life, and to access the energies of the living earth. A Handfasting Ceremony is often, but not always, followed by a legal Marriage Ceremony one year and one day after the Handfasting Ceremony.

As with all my ceremonies, I write each ceremony for the couple based around their needs and desires. I do not have a range of templates for you to choose your selection from. Each ceremony is written for you, and all ceremony materials are created for you.

Commitment, Handfasting and Renewal of Vow ceremonies are $400 and include:

• A one hour initial planning appointment at my home;
• Personalised ceremony written by Penny, incorporating information about the couple;
• Handmade Keepsake Order of Ceremony booklet designed by Penny, incorporating the ceremony and photo of the couple;
• Modern Certificate designed by Penny;
• Commemorative certificates designed by Penny, for special people involved in the ceremony (Witnesses, children etc);
• Commemorative Candle and two taper candles including photo, verse and ceremony details;
• Professional officiating of ceremony;
• Access via email and phone as required;
• Your choice of available day, date and time;
• Recommendation for other services (if required)
