Accent on Names by Penelope was established in 2006 after the birth of my first
child.
Becoming a new mother gave me the perspective in life I was lacking. Despite a
successful corporate career in community relations I decided it was time to find more balance in my life. I
wanted to be a stay at home mum to Nicholas, while still utilising my skills and contributing to our family. I
also wanted a way to meet more families and help them celebrate their children.
I realised that nothing could provide the happiness, contentment and fulfillment I've found as a mother. The
joy of creating special memories for children has become my focus. I started with my son Nicholas and have
expanded from there through the development of Accent on Names, and by creating unique and personalised
ceremonies and candles for other families.
I have extensive experience in event organising, writing and public speaking. I also have a Diploma in
Public Relations (including Events Management).
Naming ceremonies and creating personalised candles, in particular are my areas of passion. Most importantly
as a young mother I understand the love, commitment and expectations parents have towards their children. It is
this understanding and professionalism which I believe will make Accent on Names stand out from the crowd.
I have completed the Marriage Celebrants Program (CHCMCEL401A) through the Academy of
Celebrancy Australia. The next step is for the Attorney General's Department to officially appoint me as a
Civil Marriage Celebrant, which I expect will happen in September 2008 as there are long waiting lists.
I will then be able to conduct Marriage ceremonies in addition to the other ceremonies I currently conduct.
Accent on Names is about creating beautiful memories, capturing a special moment in time. I am committed to
ensuring those memories will last families a lifetime.
